You Can Buy Spider-Man Remastered Standalone, but Should You?

Sounds Like Wasting Money, but With More Steps

Everybody who played 2018’s Marvel’s Spider-Man loved it. What’s not to love? Then Spider-Man: Miles Morales came out this year and everybody loved it as well. It was everything we had hoped for. On PS5, the Launch/Ultimate Edition of Mile Morales came bundled with Spider-Man Remastered, so you could play the first one again, but with even better graphics, raytracing, 60 fps, and that weird Tom Holland-lookalike. At first, there were no plans for a standalone version of Spider-Man Remastered, because why would someone get it on PS5 and not get Spider-Man: Miles Morales? Or get them separately?

Spider-Man Remastered

Well, there’s a sucker born every minute. That’s the saying, right? Let’s go over the purchase options for Spider-Man: Miles Morales real quick. You can get it standalone for $49.99 or you can get the Ultimate Edition for $69.99, which comes with a copy of Spider-Man Remastered. $20 difference there. The new standalone version of Spider-Man Remastered will run you $39.99. Not only that, but according to a purchasing bug, getting this on PS5 will just download the PS4 version in its place, without all the Remastered upgrades. Hopefully, that promptly gets sorted out.

As it stands, if you want either Spider-Man game on PS5, you might as well just get Spider-Man: Miles Morales – Ultimate Edition and get both. It’s a better value and they are both fantastic games. Consider that if you are buying these games for a loved one for the holidays. Spider-Man and Spider-Man: Miles Morales are both available on PS4 and PS5.
