Yakuza: Like A Dragon Xbox Series X Hit With Delay in Japan

Yakuza: Like A Dragon off to a Rough Start on Xbox Series X

While the Yakuza series is fresh and new for Xbox fans, it looks like Xbox Series X owners in Japan will have to wait a while for a next-gen version of Yakuza: Like A Dragon. The latest Yakuza title has been indefinitely delayed in Japan for the Xbox Series X, with SEGA not giving fans an idea of when to expect a release. Yakuza: Like A Dragon is available right now in other markets for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, and PC, with a PS5 version expected on November 12th.

SEGA kept things short in their announcement, stating simply: “the release of the Xbox Series X version of Yakuza: Like a Dragon in Japan has not been officially announced by us.” While Yakuza: Like A Dragon saw an Xbox Series X release in Western markets for the launch of the next-gen console, it looks like Japanese fans will have to wait a little bit longer. SEGA has yet to confirm when Japanese Yakuza fans who went with the Xbox Series X will be able to get their hands on Yakuza: Like A Dragon.

While Yakuza: Like A Dragon isn’t available for the Xbox Series X launch in Japan, it is available for PS4 in the same market. Xbox continues to try and break into the Japanese market, but with SEGA dropping the ball on Yakuza: Like A Dragon for the Xbox Series X, it seems like they might have to wait a bit longer to extend their reach into Japan. While there’s no officially confirmed date for Yakuza: Like A Dragon on Xbox Series X in Japan, we hope to see the game release soon.
