Looks Like Rocket Arena Is Blasting Off Again!
Final Strike Games’ Rocket Arena first launched on PS4, Xbox One, and PC in the summer – joining the ranks of online multiplayer shooters with colourful characters and cartoonish environments. We enjoyed the game at launch, praising its map and character design, and now EA is adding even more content with Season 2.
The content update centres around new character Leef – who looks like a cross between a Digimon and a Korok. Leef is from the fabled “land of the ancients”, and Rocket Arena seems set to further explore this in-game lore with a spooky holiday event called “All Crater’s Eve” – hinting that we may be exploring new secrets in the popular Gemstone Jungle map. From the developer’s descriptions, Leef sounds like a highly manoeuvrable character with some intriguing magical abilities.
Rocket Arena: Season 2 is doubling down on bots, adding bot versions of 4 characters (Jayto, Blastbeard, Amphora, and Izell) for players to battle in various modes. EA and Final Strike believe that more bots equals more fun, adding greater flexibility when it comes to matchmaking and preventing any empty-lobby scenarios – there will always be a way to play.
Many of the additions for season 2 are aimed at giving existing players reasons to keep playing; including a raised level cap with an unlockable Emerald Green outfit for each hero, as well as an enhanced dodge move to shake up gameplay. The developers have also tinkered with the balancing of certain heroes, and increased the number of daily and weekly challenges – making Rocket Arena a more fulfilling experience overall.
For those of you who haven’t checked out Rocket Arena yet, EA is offering Rocket Arena(Standard Edition) on Origin/PC for free for all Amazon Prime members. To claim this offer, check out Prime Gaming before October 10th at https://gaming.amazon.com/
