Report: Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria Simulator Coming to Switch

Just Try Not to Throw It in Fear

Five Nights at Freddy’s has a reputation for being a terrifying series, albeit one that focuses mostly on jumpscares. True, there’s a rich backstory filled with lore, an interesting story, and even numerous novels, but let’s face it, we’re here for the killer animatronics screaming in our faces and, if you’re like me and have a deep and irrational phobia of animatronics, you have to get through one of your worst phobias to get to that lore. It’s like if every major event in Skyrim forced you to fight against Frostbite Spiders for an hour to uncover.

Five Nights at Freddy’s: Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria Simulator is the sixth game in the series, and follows yet another employee of the Pizzeria as they attempt to survive the killer animatronics. Unlike the other games, however, it’s not just a case of watching the cameras; during the day you need to manage and maintain the restaurant, and at night you have tasks to complete on your computer like printing leaflets or posters, which unfortunately make just enough noise to draw the curious animatronics towards you and, in yet more proof (if it was needed) that the series exists in a world with no health and safety regulations, kill you.

The game coming to the Switch does raise the issue of… well, playing a game notorious for its jumpscares on a portable console, with the later models of the Switch having no ability to play on the big screen. Given that the early days of the Wii were plagued by people damaging their consoles – or televisions – with improper use of the Wiimote, this might cause some issues down the line. The Switch is also often seen as a family friendly console, and with the sheer amount of merchandise aimed at children below the age rating of the game this could lead to some people buying the game for their kids.
