Treyarch Reveals Black Ops: Cold War Multiplayer

Call of Duty fans Finally Got a Taste of Black Ops: Cold War Multiplayer

Treyarch has officially shown off Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War’s multiplayer, including a new and improved Fireteam co-op. The multiplayer maps will be open warzones similar to old Battlefield maps, and they’ll be based on real-life locations such as the North Atlantic, Angola, Uzbekistan, Russia, and Miami. The Fireteam co-op mode lets up to four players team up to tackle several unique missions similar to previous Fireteam modes. Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War is releasing for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC later this year.

When Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War releases later this year, it will offer crossplay between platforms, including the next-gen consoles it’s releasing for. All game modes will apparently be playable across all platforms so if you have friends on a different platform than the one you play on, you won’t feel left out. The recent multiplayer reveal for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War also confirmed that Call of Duty: Warzone would be arriving with the next-gen title in some way, but failed to clarify whether it would differ drastically or not.

When arriving in Miami during the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War multiplayer reveal, the soldiers emerge from a boat with weapons drawn similar to how most multiplayer maps start in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. With an assortment of other vehicles teased, it’s likely that the multiplayer maps will include specific vehicles build around the theme of the map, especially the North Atlantic map which included vehicular combat. The weapons shown off during the multiplayer reveal are what gamers would expect from a Cold War-era title like the original Black Ops which released back in 2010.
