Sony Finally Drops PS5 Release and Price Details

The PlayStation Showcase Reveals PS5 Release Date

Earlier today, during the latest PlayStation Showcase, Sony dropped some huge details regarding the PS5 launch lineup, as well as some sweet gameplay from multiple games. Hogwarts Legacy was among those juicy gameplay trailers. But what’s the use in knowing about the upcoming next-gen games without a knowing when the console drops? Wait not longer because Sony finally revealed all of the price details and release date for the PS5 world-wide.

So when exactly does the PS5 release? In these 7 countries (the U.S., Japan, Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand and South Korea) the PS5 will launch on November 12th. For the rest of the world however, gamers will have to wait an entire week, until November 19th to scoop one up. We found out last month that there will be two versions of the PlayStation 5 and Sony revealed the prices for both today as well. You can check out the price breakdown below:

  • Digital Edition – $399.99 USD/$499 CAD/¥39,980/€399.99/£359.99
  • Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc Drive Edition – $499.99 USD/$629 CAD/¥49,980/€499.99/£449.99

Despite Sony stating that pre-orders will begin on September 17th, fans who haven’t already purchased a PS5 will be hard-pressed to find one available now as pre-orders have since opened and sold out following the PlayStation Showcase. You can check out the full showcase below, just in case you missed it.
