Night Is Darkest Before The Dawn
If you’ve been excited about the release of Horizon: Zero Dawn on PC, believe us when we say, we know the feeling. Many of COGconnected’s own staff routinely include Horizon on their ‘top games of the generation’ list. So you can imagine we’ve been chomping at the bit to see what Aloy’s breathtaking adventure fairs like on a beefy gaming rig. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, we’ll have to wait just a bit longer.
While we’ve had our review code since the end of July, Horizon has, unfortunately, been suffering from debilitating optimization and stability issues. The problem has been so significant that we’re not comfortable reviewing the game until it has been patched.
The good news is the teams over at Guerrilla Games, and Sony have updated us on the matter. A representative made us aware of a patch that’s incoming on Thursday, specifically to amend the issues plaguing the current state of Horizon. The bad news is this will mean our review is going to be delayed by a day or two. In the interest of providing our readers thorough, honest assessments, we wouldn’t feel right rushing our thoughts out the door.
Horizon: Zero Dawn comes to Steam and the Epic Games Store on August 7th. Keep it locked on COGconnected for our final analysis.
