Red Dead Online Update Comes Out Next Week at Long Last

See, Protests Work

Well, it’s been about seven months of stagnant content in Red Dead Online. The last major update was the Moonshiners DLC in December. Since then, there have been double and triple XP events, but nothing of much substance. Players had even taken to Red Dead Online servers in clown costumes in protest of their neglect. Well, apparently that worked or was just wonderful timing. According to Rockstar, both GTA Online and Red Dead Online will be getting major updates, though there is not mention of release date for GTA Online.

Red Dead Online Update

Rockstar’s announcement of the new content called Frontier Pursuit does not have a detailed outline of the content, but gives a glimpse into what it’s all about. Like the Moonshiners update, Frontier Pursuit will add a new role for players. The role is not mentioned by name, but there is an image of a frontiersman wearing a coonskin hat while hunting a moose. Part of the description says the update “will introduce players to the secrets of naturalism,” so players may get new missions along the lines of hunting and maybe some bonuses for those who become frontiersmen.

The GTA Online update is much more vague. There is mention of taking heists in the direction of the most recent heist content in the casino. Rockstar says it will also be GTA Online’s biggest update yet, so we will have to wait and see what that it. The Frontier Pursuit update is set to launch on July 28th. Red Dead Redemption 2 is available now on PC, Stadia, PS4, and Xbox One.
