License to Practice Revoked
Lately, Twitch has begun to take allegations of sexual misconduct among their partnered streamers very seriously. A slew of bans have been handed out to streamers of every level of popularity for this reason. It is unclear if this is related, but Dr Disrespect has been removed from Twitch once again. Almost one year ago to the day, Guy “Dr Disrespect” Beahm returned to Twitch from a suspension. This suspension was given out for his infamous stream from a public bathroom. While that was a temporary removal, according to Kotaku, this ban may very well be permanent.
Dr Disrespect has really been pushing just how far he can go with various controversial topics and acts. His streams have recently gone as far as spreading baseless conspiracy theories on the Coronavirus, which other streamers like Kaceytron have been suspended for making jokes about. Dr Disrespect is more of a character than a real person, so when backed into a corner, Guy Beahm can sometimes plead innocence in the name of comedy, but Twitch might be fed up with it. To be clear, a specific reason for his ban has not been confirmed as of yet.
Twitch is also refunding pre-purchased subscriptions to Dr Disrespect’s channel, which points toward a permanent ban. With Mixer shutting down, if he wants to continue streaming, he might have to switch to YouTube Gaming or… *gulp* Facebook Gaming. Dr Disrespect has not yet commented on the situation, so he may be working on an official statement. In the meantime, all we can do is wait for more information about this ban.
