Little Hope is Going to Rely Less on Quick Time Events Than Previous Titles

Press F to Perform Exorcism

Quick time events are something that people love to hate in video games. Usually seen as a lazy cop-out, most gamers are not fans of having major events within a video game be determined by how fast you can press a button.  While they are certainly not as common as they used to be, but they still do pop up every once in a while. Namely in games like Until Dawn and Man of Medan. While these games were by no means ruined by adding this mechanic into the game, it was still disappointing to see. This is something that Little Hope, the latest entry into the Dark Pictures Anthology is looking to avoid.

Little Hope

Little Hope is hoping to improve in areas that were lackluster in previous games in the series. Supermassive Games hopes that making quick time events less prominent than before is going to work wonders for the game’s immersion and pacing. Little Hope is hoping to give the person playing a sense of control and agency that has not truly been realized yet.

For those who have not had a chance to play a title in this series yet, the Dark Pictures Anthology is a series of horror games that emphasize personal choice. You take control of a cast of colorful characters and make decisions for them that will, later on, have an immense impact on how the game ends. Some major, some small. The repercussions of your actions can be brutal and unforgiving too. In certain playthroughs, some people managed to kill every playable character in the game. Supermassive Games really are a must for anyone who is a fan of horror.

Little Hope, the third installment of the Dark Pictures Anthology is going to release for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC this Summer.
