Activision CEO Gives Number To Every Employee

To Chat About The Coronavirus

If you’re stressed out about the world at the moment, it helps to have someone you can talk to. Someone who can assuage your fears about the state of things. Activision CEO Bobby Kotick had this very thought, and gave out his phone number to all 10,000 of his employees. Sort of a long-distance open door policy.

Predictably, hundreds of people have already taken him up on this offer. Kotick offered “every single employee that has a concern that relates to their health care to just contact me directly.” His number has been out in the wild for a month now. What with employment everywhere being so up in the air, you would think that more people would take advantage of this offer.

Activision Blizzard has been pretty lucky, in that a relatively low number of employees have tested positive for the virus. Of course, these numbers are dependent on testing accuracy and availability. The company has been working to ensure their employees have access to some sort of health care right now, an especially serious concern, given the severity of the illness in question. Kotick also noted that investments have been made into companies researching the disease. The amounts are presently undisclosed, but it’s nice to see them putting in some sort of work.
