PAX East Animal Crossing Booth Is Like the Set of a Children’s Show

Perfect Vacation Spot

Even if Animal Crossing isn’t really your game, even if you don’t see yourself playing it, you have got to admit that they know how promote a game. There are a ton of Animal Crossing: New Horizons pre-order bonuses available around the globe and this weekend at PAX East, they are pulling out all the stops with the Animal Crossing booth. Some game booths have stations for PAX attendees to demo the games, but Animal Crossing lets you step into an entirely new world, as long as you don’t look up at the convention hall ceiling.

Animal Crossing Booth

The above image was taken by Polygon’s Nicole Carpenter at PAX East. It shows the vast area with a number of locations and items that players can expect to see in the upcoming game. Nintendo also released a short promotional video comparing the booth to set pieces in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. The set has the players’ initial tent with items like a shovel and a fishing net. Next to that, there is a bridge that attendees can “fish” at with a fishing line. The river and waterfall in the background has running water effects using lights and screens, as well as a campsite with an artificial campfire.

Toward the end of the booth, there is a 2D house and a replica of a workbench that players will be using in the game. The booth is sometimes also populated by our favourite Animal Crossing characters like K.K. Slider, Isabelle, and Tom Nook, who greet attendees and take pictures with them. Attendees are also given special Tom Nook tote bags while supplies last. Animal Crossing: New Horizons will be available exclusively on Nintendo Switch on March 20th.
