Gwent Receives New Card Updates and Faction Challenges Just Before World Masters

Gwent is Gearing Up For the World Masters

The Witcher card game Gwent has added a ton of new content over the weekend. Fans can now expect to see some tweaks and changes to certain cards, as well as new faction-specific challenges. The card updates have been set in place just before the World Masters is going to take place on March 14th. This tournament is going to be were the best of the best face off to see who is the greatest of them all. These players will be competing for a prize pool of $250,000. Needless to say, there is a lot on the line.

The tweaks to some of the cards are by no means a huge deal to casual players, but this sudden switch up has a big impact on the competitive meta. For instance, Caretaker was nerfed heavily and it is unlikely we will see him used at all. This could also change how much we see the use of the new and powerful progression cards that were released with the most recent expansion.

As for the faction challenges, players will have until the 13th to try and complete them. Each player will get to chose a faction that they want to “represent” and then will be assigned a series of five tasks that they have to finish. These are going to vary depending on what factions you choose. These new challenges are a great way for players to gather up reward keys. They can be hard to come by playing the game normally, so it is always a good idea to take advantage whenever possible. These keys can really help you get ahold of rare cards that you need to make a good deck.

Gwent is available on PC, Xbox One, PS4, and Nintendo Switch.
