Daniel “Dubs” Walsh No Longer Represents FaZe Clan
The FaZe Clan member known as Daniel “Dubs” Walsh has been suspended indefinitely from the team for using a racial slur during a livestream. FaZe Clan recently released a statement which explained their intent to foster an inclusive community. Walsh and his teammates will have to undergo sensitivity training as a result of the racial slur. Walsh recently made an apology on his Twitter, which can no longer be associated with FaZe as part of the indefinite suspension. Dubs was part of FaZe Clan’s Fortnite team who compete on PC, with Fortnite crossplay available on most platforms.
Despite the fact that FaZe Clan is diversifying their roster, with their first female competitor joining their ranks recently, it seems not all members were on board with an inclusive community. Daniel “Dubs” Walsh claimed in his recent Twitter post that “I can’t even describe how sorry I am. I did not intend to be hurtful in any way but what I said was still hurtful, insensitive and wrong. The word shouldn’t have been in my vocabulary and I apologize from the bottom my heart to everyone I offended by using it. You deserve better.”
“FaZe Clan will not tolerate any form of hate speech. It is imperative for us to foster an inclusive environment in this community. Due to his actions, we are suspending Dub indefinitely from representing FaZe Clan while in professional competition, streaming, or posting on his social channels,” said the recent FaZe Clan statement. “We are requiring Dubs to go through sensitivity training and proactively requiring all FaZe Clan members to go through sensitivity training immediately.”
