Indiana Jones 5 Will Still Star Harrison Ford

Lucasfilm President Confirms the Film is a Go

Indiana Jones 5 is still in production and Harrison Ford is still set to star in it. Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy confirmed the status of the film at the BAFTAs on February 1.

indiana jones 5Kennedy’s brief statement shed some light on the state of the film.

““We’re working away, getting the script where we want it to be and then we’ll be ready to go,” said Kennedy. “Harrison Ford will be involved, yeah. It’s not a reboot; it’s a continuation. He can’t wait.” Harrison Ford will be reprising his role as the titular professor/archaeologist.


Indiana Jones 5 has been in a state of constant delays. The film was initially promised to release in 2019. Since then, there have been several pushbacks. Disney had announced a new release date of July 10, 2020 with production to start in April 2019 but that fell through as well. Currently, the official release date for the film is July 9, 2021, but there’s no telling how long that date will hold up.

The last time Indiana Jones hit the big screen was in 2008 with Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull .. The film was not well received critically and its often considered the worst film in the series.
