EA Will Be Releasing Four Non-Sports Games This Year
EA recently announced during a quarterly financial earnings call that they have four new non-sports games releasing by March 2021. The next fiscal year begins in April and stretches until March 2021 so gamers can expect to see these four games release somewhere in that time frame. Considering Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is getting a sequel, we expect to see that among the four upcoming titles. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is available on PC, Xbox One and PS4.
Within the next fiscal year, EA will be releasing eight games from its internal studios, four of which are the annual sports games, while the other four are apparently based on existing IP’s. EA hasn’t mentioned whether or not the next NBA Live title is among the four sports titles releasing but they have suggested it may be a next-gen exclusive. EA will also be publishing four games from independent developers as part of its established EA Originals label.
Fans of the Battlefield series will have to wait until the fiscal year of 2022 to see the next installment in the franchise, which is almost surely a next-gen title. EA is also planning to soft-launch two new mobile games but haven’t officially announced which IP they will focus on for mobile. FIFA and Madden are two sports titles that have been announced as part of the four upcoming sports games in the fiscal year of 2021 but EA has yet to reveal the other two titles. NHL is almost certainly one of their upcoming sports titles but we’re interested to see what the four non-sports games are.
