Cannibals Will Be Chewing up the Diablo IV Battlefield
Blizzard and IGN have officially revealed one of the new enemies that will clutter the battlefield of Diablo IV: the Cannibals. Each family of enemies have their own story, abilities, combat and regions they hail from. So far, Blizzard has revealed a few of the mobs of enemies known as families such as the Drowned which are a brand new enemy and the Fallen, who return from previous games. Diablo IV is expected to release for Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
Apparently, nobody knows where the Cannibals came from in the lore of Diablo IV, but legends claim they come from a former tribe of barbarians. “Corpses riddled with bite marks. Splintered bones scraped clean of marrow. Tongues sawed off and eyes gouged out of their skulls. These are the bloody fingerprints the Cannibals leave behind, if they leave behind anything at all,” reads an official excerpt about the enemies. The enemies were showed off in a little clip that included a pan around them, showing the detail and features put into them.
“No one is certain where they come from, but some legends claim they are a former tribe of barbarians, banished from Arreat years ago. Whether their cannibalism led to their exile or developed out of desperation afterward is unknown,” continues the official blerb for the Cannibals. “The outcasts brought their endless hunger to the Dry Steppes, and from there spread to the far corners of the world to prey on lonesome caravans and unsuspecting villages.” Apparently few survive their encounters with the Cannibals but will you survive their thirst for meat?
