Baldur’s Gate News Brewing via Official Twitter Account
Larian Studios recently released a teaser update for Baldur’s Gate 3 where storyteller Volo from the previous titles spoke about “many developments” in the city and how it’s “time to return.” A twitter post and the end of the video mentioned that something’s brewing and gamers will hear more on February 27th. The teaser also included behind-the-scenes footage of motion capture in action and a live orchestra producing the soundtrack. Currently, there’s no word on whether Baldur’s Gate 3 will release on current-gen hardware or if the developers will wait until PS5 and the Xbox Series X to release the anticipated title.
Baldur’s Gate 3 was announced last year around E3 2019 and since then, a bundle of the first two titles and all of the respective DLC has released to introduce new fans to the series and remind others why they fell in love with the originals to begin with. The montage of music, behind-the-scenes work and motion capture gave us a glimpse into what Larian Studios has been doing since the last update. One brief clip even included an animator working on a 3D model, which gives us an idea of what the enemies will look like.
The upcoming long-awaited follow-up to one of the most critically acclaimed RPGs, Baldur’s Gate II, is currently being developed for PC and Google Stadia. It’ll be interesting to see whether Baldur’s Gate 3 will be one of the last big releases of this generation or a big launch title for next-gen. Larian Studios has been teased a darker story for the new title and explained that it’s the biggest role-playing game that they have ever made.
