Catch up on All the Golden Joystick Awards Winners This Year

Gaming’s Best

There are few topics that always divide the human race into two; pancakes or waffles, Biggie or Tupac, Marvel or DC, and Golden Joystick Awards or Game Awards. Well, luckily for gamers, no matter which awards ceremony you prefer, you get both in a relatively short amount of time. Yesterday saw the Joystick Awards and next month will host the Game Awards. If you missed them last night, we have the list of winners in each of the 24 categories. They are as follows:

Golden Joystick Awards

  • Best Storytelling – Days Gone
  • Best Multiplayer Game – Apex Legends
  • Still Playing Award – Minecraft

  • Esports Game of the Year – Fortnite
  • Best Audio – Resident Evil 2
  • Best Game Expansion – GTA Online: Diamond Casino Update
  • Best VR/AR Game – Beat Saber
  • Best Gaming Hardware – Nvidia 20-Series Super Graphics Card
  • Best Performer – Logan Marshall-Green

Something refreshing about the Golden Joystick Awards this year is that there was no dominating game that swept the show. Though Resident Evil 2 and Days Gone won two awards each, that was the most any game had won this year. Millions of people had voted online to decide these awards, and it shows in the diversity of the winners. The Game Awards hosted by Geoff Keighley will air next month.
