Halo Infinite Isn’t Facing a ‘Creative Dilemma’ Due to Recent Departures, Says 343

Halo Infinite’s Development Is Going Smoothly, According to 343

There was a recent panic on the Halo subreddit over longtime 343 Industries producer Mary Olson leaving the studio while Halo Infinite is still in development. A Reddit post that received over 5,000 upvotes mistakenly said that Olson became the creative director of the game after the previous creative director, Tim Longo, left 343 in August.

Now with her recently leaving 343 for indie studio Midwinter Entertainment, it seemed like the latest Halo game was in trouble.

Naturally, this caused a panic on the subreddit until a 343 employee clarified what Olson’s and Longo’s roles were for the game and also assured Halo fans that Halo Infinite’s development was going well. The employee, community manager John Junyszek (also known as Reddit user Unyshek), said that Olson was never a creative director for the game and explained the role that producers play at 343.

Additionally, Junyszek said at the end of his post that “there is no creative dilemma inside the studio, and there’s no writing on the walls.” He also mentioned that the Halo Infinite team was still planning for the game to launch in Holiday 2020 for PC, Xbox One, and Project Scarlett.
