Gamers can now spawn in vehicles that are either neutral or ally driven from the spawn selection screen. Shotguns and pistols apparently got the most attention with the day one patch in the weapon balancing. The UI will go brighter instead of darker when gamers take damage. Activision’s yearly Call of Duty title releases today with Modern Warfare being available on Xbox One, PS4 and PC now.

Infinity Ward has fixed a number of issues since the beta for Modern Warfare and the team promises to improve this “map by map post-launch.” Ground War has received the most altering with the day one patch as Infinity Ward added more fallback spawns to FOBs if the flag has too many enemies, if all flags are captured by one team, you’ll go into Defcon to win and they improved safety checking for spawning on Squadmates. Infinity Ward also fixed an exploit that was allowing gamers to spawn under the map, leading to many frustrated players.

The lighting in Modern Warfare has received a slight change with the day one patch as characters are being brightened in dark areas across many maps. Enemy claymores now have larger, visible lasers so less gamers will be left wondering what the heck killed them. Reviving a teammate near a friendly claymore could cause the claymore to explode, resulting in a suicide, so be careful where you re-up your friends. Infinity Ward fixed an edge case scenarios with spawning on enemies, leading to frustration and thrown controllers. The day one patch adjusts spawn logic to improve spawn quality which is definitely a necessary change since the beta. Infinity Ward has also added more spawns to increase the options for gamers.
