This Next-Gen Lighting Has Us Excited for Square Enix’s Future Games
Square Enix game studio Luminous Productions recently revealed a tech demo titled “Back Stage” that shows off a scene with some stunning ray tracing.
According to the video, this demo was made with the Luminous Engine, which is likely the engine that Luminous Productions will be using for its games.
As for what those games will be, they’re likely to be next-gen releases. Last year, a Luminous Productions developer listed a PS5 project on their LinkedIn webpage and Square Enix has said recently that the studio is working on a new AAA IP. It’s unlikely that Square would launch a new IP on current-gen hardware since it’s been rumored that next-gen consoles are coming out in 2020.
