Strap on Your Boots for Some More Red Dead Online Action in RDR2
Although there have been a number of rumors circling the internet for the last few months about Red Dead Redemption 2, most recently about a possible PC release, none of these have been confirmed. What has now been confirmed however is that Rockstar is spending all their time and energy on expanding Red Dead Online.
In a new interview with VG247, Rockstar’s Katie Pica has discussed the company’s focus on developing content for Red Dead Online. So much so in fact that it appears that at the moment, there isn’t going to be a single-player DLC release. That’s right, if you were among the fans desperately hoping for a single player DLC, it looks like you’re going to have to keep waiting. Here’s what Katie had to say about it, “We’re 100% focused on online right now, because like I said, there’s just so much to do, and we’re just hoping to bring everything that a player can love about single-player into the online world, and fleshed out.”
Rockstar’s Tarek Hamad explained the reasons behind this decision stating that they’re working hard to match Red Dead Online multiplayer mode to the world found within the campaign. This means expanding the mode with new characters, activities and more. Hamad breaks it all down saying, “We’ve said it before, but we all love single-player games, and Red Dead Redemption 2’s absolutely massive story and equally massive epilogue are hopefully evidence of that. The team’s ambitions for Red Dead Redemption 2 were sky high in every way, and when we are building worlds of that scale, the single-player experience almost always leads the way. Our ambitions for our online games are just as high, and with Red Dead Online we are continuing to build and expand to match the world we created for Red Dead Redemption 2’s story, not just with the roles but other activities, new random events, characters to meet, new ways to engage with the world and further inhabit your character, as well as trying to improve the overall experience.”
