Death Stranding Is in the ‘Crunch Time’ Phase of Development, Says Kojima

Death Stranding’s Creator Is Apparently Crunching for the Game’s Development

Death Stranding creator Hideo Kojima tweeted on Wednesday that he and his developer team were currently working long hours (or “crunching”) so that the game will be ready to launch on November 8th.

Death Stranding

“Death Stranding has the element of something never existed before, the gameplay, the world atmosphere, the visuals which we aimed to create,” Kojima tweeted. “The studio I established was tiny indies but trying our best to deliver the product launching on Nov 8th. Still in crunch time of [development].”

The release date of Kojima’s latest game was revealed back in May and the game is more than three months away from launch. However, games usually “go gold” (i.e. a phase in development when the game is completed and its discs are certified for mass shipping) several weeks before release. Since Death Stranding is launching in early November it is possible that the deadline for it to “go gold” is sometime in October.

Other news: one of the game’s unique characters was recently featured in a trailer that can be viewed here.
