This Death Stranding Character Can Only Live for 21 Minutes

Death Stranding Continues to Confound (In a Good Way)

One of Death Stranding’s major characters is a man named “Heartman” who can only live for 21 minutes at a time and likes to watch really short films. Somehow, this guy is probably one of the least weird characters in the game.

Kojima explained at a San Diego Comic-Con 2019 panel that Heartman’s “unique” heart is the main reason why he keeps dying in 21 minutes.

“He is hooked up to an [automated external defibrillator] and occupies himself with music and film that can be consumed within that 21 minute window,” IGN reported. “When he dies, he spends three minutes on the other side, searching for his family, before being resurrected. Heartman dies 60 times a day.”

Death Stranding

Hopefully more about Heartman and other characters will be revealed in the lead-up to the game’s launch. Death Stranding comes out on November 8th for the PS4.

What do you think of this news? What’s your opinion of Kojima’s upcoming game so far? Does Heartman seem like an interesting character? Which other character are you looking forward to learning more about?
