Check Out the New Mario Kart Hot Wheels at Comic-Con Next Month
In a long-proclaimed and demanded match made in heaven, Nintendo and Hot Wheels have announced an official partnership that will bring Mario Kart toys to the next level.
Senoir Director of Global Brand Marketing at Hot Wheels, Matt Brutocao, has released a statement regarding the partnership:
“Mario Kart and Hot Wheels are two of the most iconic brands in play, each with their own storied history and devoted fan base, so the combination of the two is something very special. Our new Hot Wheels Mario Kart line creates an exciting Mario Kart play experience, complete with fun characters, authentic details and the type of out-of-this-world racing challenges that are synonymous with Hot Wheels.”
At launch, only Mario, Luigi, Bowser and Yoshi will be available. Princess Peach, Koopa Troopa and Toad are said to be coming soon afterwards. Additionally, the tracks will include the standard Mario Kart Circuit Track Set, with Piranha Plant Slide and Thwomp Ruins sets being sold seperately.
The Mario Kart toys will be featured at the Mattel booth at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, where attendees will have a chance to get their hands on a special Metal Mario kart that will be exclusive to Comic-Con and the official Mattel website.
In other recent Mario Kart news, the first in the game’s series was recently added to the Video Game Hall of Fame. Also, there was recently a beta test for the upcoming mobile game, Mario Kart Tour, which is expected to officially launch sometime later this year. Let us know what you think in the comments!
