The Last of Us Part II Has Been Rumored to Be a 2019 Release
It’s been more than two years since The Last of Us Part II was revealed at PSX 2016 and though multiple trailers have been released, no release date or window has been confirmed. Though, according to Naughty Dog’s communications director, more The Last of Us Part II info will be revealed when the studio is ready to do so.
“Can’t say much, but we’ll put new things out when it and we are ready,” Naughty Dog’s Arne Meyer told a Twitter user who recently asked him about new info. “Appreciate you and all of our fans’ patience!”
With Sony deciding not to go to E3 this year, it currently seems likely that this highly-anticipated sequel (along with several other high-profile PS4 exclusives such as Death Stranding) won’t be launching in 2019.
However, this hasn’t stopped speculation and rumors about the game coming out in 2019 from happening. A few official PlayStation websites recently listed Naughty Dog’s upcoming game alongside several 2019 PS4 games and ex-IGN producer Alanah Pearce said in January that “multiple people” told her that the game would be coming out sometime this year.
