Next Week Will See a New For Honor Hero on the Battlefield

Or Should I Say Anti-Hero

Ubisoft’s 2017 release For Honor is still fighting its hardest. A little over two years after launch, For Honor has reached 20 million players across the PC, Xbox One, and PS4 platforms. It’s also well into its third year of content. A few days ago, Ubisoft released a trailer revealing this season’s new playable character. The new For Honor hero is called Hitokiri. They wield a large axe called Masakari, which they use to slay and execute criminals or anyone who stands against them. The two Hitokiri that can be played as are the male Yato and female Sakura, who is featured in the cinematic trailer.

New For Honor Hero

Just as the previous season did, a new hero is introduced along with an accompanying map. This new map is called Canopy. No details on Canopy are given, but if it is like the last season’s map, it will tie in to the new playable heroes. Sakura and Yato will be playable for Year 3 Pass owners when the season starts on May 2nd. A week later, on May 9th, the Hitokiri will become available for purchase with 15,000 Steel, the in-game currency.

Season 3 of Year 3 will likely begin in July, after Season 2 is over. That will bring in a Viking-type hero in a similar fashion as the Hitokiri and the Black Prior before them. For an overview of Year 3 and the previously released Black Prior, check out our news post. You have a week to pick up a Year 3 Pass or two weeks to save up enough Steel to unlock your Hitokiri. Season 2 starts on May 2nd.
