I’m Gonna Say I Called It
To build up the hype for Borderlands 3, Gearbox put out a trailer for Borderlands: Game of the Year Edition last week. It was called Borderlands: The Story so Far, except it only covered the first game. Your old pal Zane thought, “Hmm. Wouldn’t it be cool if they did this for the other games, too?” And then they did. Probably because I called it. This trailer is retelling the tale of Borderlands 2, in promotion for Borderlands: The Handsome Collection. I wanted this one to be narrated by Tiny Tina, but we can’t get everything we want, can we?
Once again, Marcus Kincaid serves as the narrator for this trailer. The plot is summarized mostly by what the villains did. It tells of how Handsome Jack and his Siren-daughter Angel manipulated the Vault Hunters into getting the Vault Key charged and unleashing the Warrior. As usual, the heroes stop the Warrior and end up uncovering a bigger mystery connected to the Vaults. The trailer ends with another “To Be Continued” which suggests another trailer. We will probably see another one recapping the Pre-Sequel and maybe one recapping Tales from the Borderlands. We will have to wait and see.
Borderlands 3 comes out in about four and a half months on September 13th. I sure all the hidden messages and clues will make sense then. Or they won’t. Regardless, there is bound to be more Story so Far to come. When it comes out, we’ll be here to break it all down, like a silent protector. Or something less mysterious. September 13th. Xbox One, PS4, PC. Borderlands 3. Be there.
