Coincidence? Yeah, Maybe. That’s Not Unlikely
Gearbox kicked off PAX East right with the reveal of their long awaited Borderlands 3 trailer. They are not just hosting their own panel, it already feels like Gearbox is hosting this entire week of gaming news. More on that at 2. While so many were justifiably excited for the trailer, there were a few that took this opportunity to scan every frame. This led to finding what could possibly be the Borderlands 3 release date. Obviously, this is just a theory, but there are numbers seen in the trailer correlate to the date of October 1st. You decide if it makes sense.
During the trailer, there are large buildings with numbers on their sides. These buildings can be seen at 1:41 and 1:51 with the numbers 01 and 10, respectively. Some think that this is teasing an October 1st release. The way the camera moves in those shots seem to specifically show those numbers. At the same time, they may also just be showing the scale of the world, that’s not unheard of. The Fall is a popular time for triple A games to release, so it makes for a convincing theory. Check it out for yourself down below.
We know Borderlands 3 has been in development for quite a while. With enough footage to show off in the gameplay trailer, Gearbox is probably close enough to finishing for an October release. In any case, we are super excited for a possible 2019 launch of Borderlands 3. Be sure to check out our post about yet another hidden message in the Mask of Mayhem teaser Gearbox released earlier this week.
