Original Borderlands Remaster Coming to Modern Platforms Next Week

Borderlands Brings the Original Vault Hunters to 4K

Despite some technical difficulties during today’s panel at PAX East, Gearbox announced that the original Borderlands will be coming to modern platforms with a slew of new features and content as soon as next week!

After the reveal trailer was thwarted twice by technical difficulties, some of the series’ developers came out onstage to tell us all about the remaster. The updated version will include full-blown 4K HDR graphics, 4 player split-screen and online multiplayer, all 4 original add-on packs, along with a new minimap, gold chests, new character skins and heads, SHIFT support for players to accumulate Golden Keys, more guns somehow, “and more!” Even the box art got a flashy makeover!

Borderlands Game of the Year

It’ll be dropping this Wednesday, April 3rd for PC, PS4 and Xbox One. That same day, we’ll be receiving an update for the Handsome Collection, bringing 4K and HDR visuals to Borderlands 2 and the Pre-Sequel. Gearbox also finally announced Borderlands 3 during their PAX East panel, and were even kind enough to drop an awesome gameplay trailer! Let us know which of the upcoming returns to Pandora you’re looking forward to most in the comments.
