Give Murder a Shot in the Hitman 2 Starter Ad
Not to be cynical, but this kind of thing usually happens when a game isn’t selling well, which is a shame because the recent Hitman games are masterclasses in game design.
The free starter pack is available on all platforms that Hitman 2 itself is, and includes the game’s first mission set in Hawke’s Bay, New Zealand, along with all of the game’s difficulty options. IO promises that all your progress will carry over to the full game “when” you choose to buy it.
There’s also a nifty elusive target mission for players to check out – for the uninitiated, an elusive target is a target you only get one shot (literally or figuratively, you choose) to take out. In this case, that target is “a disgraced former New Zealand Minister of Trade and Foreign Affairs who was forced to resign after the discovery of her charity funneling funds to her offshore interests.” She’ll have a body double roaming the level as well, so be careful to take out the right target, lest you never get the chance again.
If you’re looking to start from the start, Hitman 2016 is free through PS+ for the next few days until the new games kick in, and is available on Xbox Game Pass as well. Let us know if you’ll be checking it out in the comments!
