“We Made it, Fam”
2018 was a year full of ups, downs, and games. To celebrate, we’ve witnessed our share of awards ceremonies. Everyone has their favorite pick, but it came as a surprise when Wendy’s—yes, the fast food heroin—named Spider-Man game of the year.
Thanks to its popularity, #NationalRoastDay made a return to Twitter this year. It’s a thread where the Wendy’s Twitter account responds to questions from fans, no matter how ridiculous (in most cases). In this case, one user asked about Wendy’s pick for game of the year. Then Eric Monacelli, the producer over at Insomniac Games, decided to tweet the response with the words, “We made it, Fam.”

Yep, Marvel’s Spider-Man for the PS4 is Wendy’s game of the year. The reason? No one needs a reason, so just accept that one of the best fast-food spots prefers the web-slinger over cowboys and angry gods… and forts. Apparently, many followers agreed and replied to the tweet with enthusiasm and nerdgasms.

Back at The Game Awards 2018, Spider-Man received nominations in several categories but, like Horizon: Zero Dawn the year prior, didn’t go home with any trophies. Now that Wendy has made her decision, however, none of that matters.
Spider-Man is available now for the PlayStation 4, along with all three DLC.
