2-Million Subscribers Later, Jack Black’s YouTube Channel is on a Roll

After Two Uploads…

The actor, comedian, and Brutal Legend Jack Black recently launched a YouTube video game channel, Jablinski Games, and with just two uploads, he is on a roll.

When Black announced his channel back on December 21st, he revealed some lofty goals. From the get-go, he promised to surpass the subscriber count of Ninja and PewdiePie. A week later, his subscriber count shot up by a million, his first video stacking 7.5 million views at the time of this writing. The promise of “games, food, and life” every Friday was enough to amass gamers and long-time fans alike.

Now, less than two weeks later, Jack Black’s new YouTube channel sits at 2.4 million subscribers. How is he doing this, you ask? Pure charisma and charm, obviously. That and some editing skills on the part of his son, who will also manage the channel, it seems.

With such a large audience that only threatens to grow, we have yet to see what Black’s content will look like. He’s dipped his toes in the video game industry, collaborating with Double Fine Studios on Brutal Legend and Broken Age. We have to wait and see if his skills with a controller live up to his mad skills with a guitar. Perhaps, this is his way of kicking off the engagement with social media. Thus far, he’s shied away from that shade of limelight. What are your thoughts?
