Assuming You’ve Somehow Never Played It Before
The Epic games store, brand new competitor on the digital storefront… front, has been coming in hot with a series of game giveaways. The latest freebie is Super Meat Boy, from the aptly-named Team Meat. If this seminal platformer has somehow eluded you till now, this is the perfect opportunity to change that.
This marks a drastic change from the previous free game, Subnautica. On the other hand, maybe you don’t want to go exploring a strange and beautiful underwater world. Maybe you’d rather murder a sentient chunk of meat over and over again in hundreds of different ways. Everyone’s marching to the beat of a different drum, I suppose.
If this free Meat Boy thing sounds like your kind of deal, you can grab it on the Epic storefront from now until January 10th, 2019. Presumably after that it will be replaced by some other, equally enticing title. Hopefully Epic will take another hard left turn in terms of style and genre to keep things fresh. Personally, I could go for another slick, tough-as-nails platforming game. Shredding sentient meat on massive saw-blades is great and all, but maybe we could do something with more fluff and fewer fatalities? Or even more blood and gore. I’m easy to please, really.
