Marvel’s Spider-Man Was Originally Supposed To Be Longer

Spider-Man Had Some Significant Cut Content

The second half of Marvel’s Spider-Man’s story was meant to be significantly longer since it included solo boss fights with two of Spidey’s iconic villains, according to a recently published interview with the game’s creative director, Bryan Intihar.

“If you look at the final act of the game, everything from the Raft mission into our third act, that was actually a much bigger act but we were just realizing that things weren’t clicking, looking at the quality bar,” Intihar explained to GameSpot. “Originally, the Vulture fight and the Electro fight were supposed to be separate. They actually were supposed to be separate events. Then you’re like, ‘Alright, we’ve got to start cutting some stuff from the game.'”

The game’s developers at Insomniac Games eventually decided that both boss fights should be combined and this resulted in a boss fight that “instantly felt better,” Intihar said.

What do you think of this news? Do you think that the original design of those boss fights would’ve been better or do you think that Insomniac was right to go with the version of the boss fight found in the game?
