Do They Make Sense, Though?
The rumor mill likes to crank out some Borderlands 3 info every now and again. This time, one source has shared a few details about the character classes and their state of development.
According to The Know, Borderlands 3 is moving beyond its alpha. Characters have been finalized and are very different from what players are used to. For starters, a Gearbox source claims that the Soldier Class can summon a robot like in Titanfall. If that didn’t sound appealing enough, the Soldier skill tree will include a turret mount option for co-op buddies. The Siren has seen a major change, too. He or she will be a melee-focused character. Does that include close combat phase abilities? Unconfirmed but plausible.
Then there’s the Assassin, who can summon a decoy that distracts enemies. Last but not least, the previously reported Beastmaster is real and will come with three pets. As of yet, we don’t know how awesome those pets will be, but we know they’ll each have their own abilities. Unlike the aforementioned classes, the Beastmaster is still being tweaked since the pet AI is facing some issues, according to the source.
If the rumors are true, then we can expect the reveal of Borderlands 3 in the first or second quarter of 2019. I imagine that Randy Pitchford and the gang won’t finalize anything until it’s all working properly. Since there’s no concrete evidence of everything leaked here today, feel free to take the news with a grain of salt. That said, the rumors almost synch up with the leaked images we received earlier this month.
Three of the four classes were allegedly leaked recently, including Beastmaster, Operative, and Bot Jock, but only one of the three was confirmed in today’s news. However, it may be the case that Operative and Bot Jock are stand-in titles for the Assassin and Soldier classes. What are your thoughts?
