CD Projekt Red Reveals 48-Minute Cyberpunk 2077 Demo

CD Projekt Red Kicks Off the Week With Cyberpunk 2077 Gameplay

When E3 kicked off the Summer, Cyberpunk 2077 was the talk of the town after premiering at the end of Microsoft’s conference. A behind-closed-doors demo was shown to a select audience of the gaming press, but the developer has finally decided to show the world what gameplay will look like in the hotly anticipated title.

Premiered over on the developer’s Twitch channel, the demo shows off quite a bit of gameplay including combat, driving, conversation, and character creation, as well as how CD Projekt Red is bringing genre tropes and staples to life, particularly in regards to the hacking of humans. Guns have secondary firing abilities and driving around the streets of Night City reeks of synthwave in the best way, but the real seller is a moment where the player hacks into an unconscious gang member, which allows them to mess with other nearby enemies (like jamming their guns) before taking them out.

Of course, this is all still a work in progress as the demo heavily reminds viewers, but Cyberpunk is already shaping up to be one of the best titles of the year it comes out – however deep into the future that may be.

Cyberpunk 2077 does’t have a release date yet, but when it does launch, it’ll be for PC, PS4 and Xbox One. Let us know what you think of the new demo in the comments, and stay tuned to COGconnected for all the latest gaming news!
