Shut Up and Taiko My Money!
The Taiko Drum Master games have been a Japanese arcade staple for over a decade and a half now. With the upcoming release of Taiko no Tatsujin: Drum ‘N’ Fun in Japan for the ever-popular Nintendo Switch, the game has been trademarked on the Australian Classification Board, hinting that the game is likely making it’s way west.
Spotted by popular Twitter user Nibel, the news of the Australian trademark comes not too long after the announcement that the game will be receiving an English language version on August 9th via a free patch – which is sure to be relieving for those who imported the title or bought it through the Japanese eShop. It’s currently unknown if the accompanying drum controllers will be coming west along with the game, but I would not doubt it seeing as Nintendo lives for peripherals and have made it clear that they’re a central part of the Switch‘s future.

One particular aspect of the Switch version of the game generating excitement is the inclusion of songs from Super Mario Odyssey and Splatoon 2. It’s releasing in Japan this coming July 19th, here’s hoping an official announcement of a western release is not too far behind.
