Namco Announces Live Events, Museum Exhibits, and More for Pac-Man’s 45th Anniversary

Bandai Namco Made Some Big Announcements

Pac-Man has been a pop-culture icon since its arcade debut in May 1980, and as the game approaches its 45th anniversary, Bandai Namco has big plans to celebrate well into 2026.

The company kicked off the “imPACt” campaign with a video highlighting Pac-Man’s history, from the classic arcade game and its Atari 2600 version to sequels like Pac-Man World 2. The teaser even offers a quick look at Shadow Labyrinth, an upcoming 2D action game that reimagines the franchise. Check out the video right below and get a glimpse of it yourself.

Beyond Shadow Labyrinth, Pac-Man fans have more to look forward to. A Pac-Man Simulator is coming to Roblox, developed with Supersocial, while PowerA is releasing themed accessories for Nintendo Switch and Xbox. Plushies, toys, and apparel are also on the way.

For an interactive experience, Manchester’s Arcade Arena will open Pac-Man Live Experience on March 22, letting visitors navigate a life-sized version of the game’s famous maze. Meanwhile, Seattle’s Museum of Pop Culture will feature a Pac-Man exhibit from April 30 to June 4, with a special event on May 10. In Irvine, California, The Great Park Gallery will host a retrospective from May 18 to September 28.

Additionally, Club America is launching limited-edition Pac-Man soccer jerseys, and a Pac-Man cookbook is set for release in 2025. Bandai Namco is also teaming up with the Red Cross for a blood drive as part of the “Make imPACt” campaign, with more details coming later this year.
