It’s a Tough Job, But Somebody’s Gotta Do It
As we recently reported, a modder found out that Aliens: Colonial Marines code contained a typo that was ruining Xenomorph AI, and fixing it has made the iconic aliens perform much more aggressively during gameplay. It looks like developer and publisher Gearbox is taking measure to ensure that kind of kerfuffle doesn’t happen again.
The info-skinny job listing may be in jest as a tongue-in-cheek response to the recent development regarding the maligned Aliens title, but the incident proves that the role may indeed come in handy in a fast-paced industry that often sees titles rushed to make deadlines.
When applying for the position, applicants are given a questionnaire in which one of the asks is “Please respond with the correct spelling: Tether or Teather.” If you know which one it is, you may be the person for the job!
All in all, this fits right in with Gearbox’s brand of humor, and it’s not unlikely that we’ll see jokes riffing on this situation whenever Borderlands 3 releases/is announced.
More recently, Gearbox published the recently released sci-fi co-op shooter Earthfall for PC, PS4 and Xbox One, and just last month laid to rest worries that the Brothers In Arms series was KIA.
Let us know if you’re applying for that job in the comments. Good luck!
