Pokemon GO Gets Wet!
Hot off the heels of Adventure Week featuring Rock Pokemon as the main attraction, Niantic has announced that Pokemon GO is kicking off its Water Festival, starting today at 1pm PDT/ 4pm EDT.
The event will feature increased spawn rates for water-type Pokemon, as well as shiny variations for Wailmer, Luvdisc, and everyone’s favorite, Magikarp.
Other features are included in the event, such as triple stardust rewards for catching water types, double candy and stardust for egg hatches, and water-type field research tasks. Also, Shellder and Kyogre will be featured as Tier 5 raid bosses with higher chances to be shinies, and Totodile, Mudkip and Corphish appearing more often in 2km eggs. Unfortunately Gen 3 third evolution Pokemon will not be available in the wild, but be sure to keep an eye out for other rare Pokemon such as Lapras, Gyarados, Vaporeon, Sharpedo, Octillery, and Slowking. Corsola is region locked to areas closer to the Earth’s equator, and Relicanth is locked to Pacific Island regions such as Fiji, New Caledonia, and New Zealand.
The event runs until June 21 at 1pm PDT/ 4pm EDT. Check out this Magikarp song to get you into the spirit of the event.
