Crackdown Cracks Hearts and Moves Down The Calender Again, As Is Tradition
The gaming industry is no stranger to delays. Some delays can go on seemingly forever, like an unholy purgatory of hype for a game that may never come, and if that game does come, will it even be worth the agonizing wait that players have twiddled their thumbs through? Or worse (if you’re the developer/publisher of said game), moved on entirely. Some perfect examples include Too Human, Duke Nukem Forever, and most recently, The Last Guardian, just to name a few. It would seem at this point then, that Microsoft and developer Sumo Digital are hellbent on adding Crackdown 3 to that list.
Crackdown 3 was announced at Microsoft’s conference during E3 2014. Since then the title has missed several due dates, the first of which being November 7th, 2017, the launch date of the teraflop-tastic Xbox One X. The game was delayed to “Spring 2018,” which has come and, in just 21 days, will be gone, without even a peep about the title from its developer or publisher. Now, according to sources close to everyone’s favorite Jason Schrier of Kotaku, Crackdown 3 has been delayed to 2019. These sources claim that Microsoft has made the risky move to give Sumo Digital “the time it needs to avoid yet another disaster.”
Now, don’t everybody panic yet, because the date it’s being delayed to COULD be January 1st, 2019, which does indeed fall on a Tuesday (the day of the week that most games are released on), and a 1-in-365 chance isn’t too terrible all things considered. If not that day, then definitely one of the other 364 days.
Hey, remember Scalebound? I do. If you do too, let us know in the comments!
