It “Won’t Be Too Long” Until We Hear About Crackdown 3’s Release Date

Could Microsoft Be Preparing a Crackdown 3 Re-reveal at E3?

Ever since Microsoft delayed Crackdown 3 last summer into 2018, fans have been wondering when next we’ll find out its new release date. According to Xbox boss Phil Spencer, the wait shouldn’t be too far off now.

Spencer took to Twitter to respond to a concerned Crackdown 3 fan on the status of the game. “We have a plan and team is locked in on their date,” Spencer said in his post. “We will talk about it more upcoming but wait won’t be too long.”

That should be reassuring for any fan who’s been waiting patiently for the game, which has seen a number of delays since it’s initial E3 reveal in 2014. It was last expected to launch alongside the Xbox One X on November 7th, 2017 but was pushed back into 2018 in August. The reason was to ensure that the dev team could “deliver the right experiences all the way through every part of the game, whether that’s campaign, co-op multiplayer or our competitive multiplayer mode, Wrecking Zone.”

We’re just spitballing here, but With E3 coming up, Microsoft might be readying Crackdown 3 for a new reveal at their press conference this year. It’s been a long time coming, and it’d be nice to finally get a locked in release date for one of Microsoft’s biggest first-party releases. Microsoft’s exclusive line-up has been fairly lacklustre recently, but 2018 appears to be looking up now that Sea of Thieves has launched. State of Decay 2 is their next big game when it launches in May.

Microsoft recently announced that all first-party exclusives will be added to Xbox Game Pass, a monthly membership that allows access to over 100 games on Xbox One. It costs $9.99 USD a month and offers a variety of Xbox One and Xbox 360 backwards compatible titles available for download.
