Stip Wants to Mess With Your Mind When It Launches in January 2027

Uncover the Rules Behind the Numbers in Stip

Get ready to question everything you know about number puzzles when Stip arrives on Steam on January 20, 2027. Belgian solo developer Sam Agten, known for SixtyFour, has officially revealed the release date for his upcoming puzzle game during the Point & Click Showcase, where a new trailer also offered another glimpse at its mysterious gameplay.

At first, Stip appears deceptively simple. Players must place numbers into dots, figure out the underlying rules, fill in the missing spaces, and progress through increasingly challenging puzzles. However, things aren’t quite as straightforward as they seem. The game falls into the Metroidbrainia genre, where discovering how its world and mechanics work is just as important as solving the puzzles themselves.

Interestingly, the release date announcement comes with a little mystery of its own. The numbers 20, 01, and 27 might be worth remembering, as players can enter codes in the game using the C key to unlock hidden secrets. It seems there’s more to Stip than simply filling dots with numbers.

Players don’t have to wait until January to get started, either, as a free demo is already available. The game has also received recognition, winning Most Anticipated Belgian Game at the Belgian Game Awards 2025, earning an honourable mention at AMAZE, and securing a Best Game nomination at Indie Arena Booth 2026. It is also eligible for the Thinky Awards’ Most Anticipated Game of 2027 category.

With its unusual puzzles and secrets, Stip could be a fascinating challenge for fans of mind-bending games. The demo is available now for those who want to start investigating early.
