United Front Will See the Allies Making the Final Push to Liberate Berlin
Activision has announced the third DLC pack for last year’s Call of Duty installment, WWII, and will include three new multiplayer maps, a new war mode mission, and a “fresh Nazi Zombies” experience for the multiplayer portion of the game.
Revealed over on the Playstation Blog, it was revealed that the pack will be coming to Playstation 4 first on June 26th (this coming Tuesday).
The three new maps include Market Garden, based on the real-life “Operation Market Garden,” a close quarters map where players will defend an Allied mansion base, and Monte Cassino, set in a mountaintop monastery with “rich verticality” for snipers and flank paths for the stealth savvy.
The third map is Stalingrad, the largest battle in all of World War 2, which will see two main bases on opposing sides of the war-torn city with sniper perches and underground sewers for maximum versatility.
The new War Mode mission is called Operation Supercharge, based on the Second Battle of El Alamein which took place near the Egyptian railway halt of the same name. In the mission, Allies will airdrop into a Nazi-occupied village in Tunisia to capture supplies and detonate a key transport bridge.
Finally, the new Nazi Zombies map, The Tortured Path, sees players transporting the remaining pieces of Emperor Barbarossa’s legendary sword across three different locations before restoring the weapon in the lost forges of ancient Thule and using it against the hordes of Undying.
