The Epic Tale of Vikings Reaches Nintendo’s Hybrid Console
The Banner Saga 2 is an epic story in which player decisions can drastically affect the outcome of a migrating Viking civilization. From its humble beginnings on Kickstarter, the IP has made its way to PC then PS4 and Xbox One. But at long last, the epic saga is making its way to the Nintendo Switch.
If you’re unaware of what The Banner Saga brings, it’s a tactical, turn-based strategy game that’s heavy on the story elements. Truly, the narrative provides nothing more and nothing less than an epic saga. The game sets players in a Fantasy world, in charge of a collective of unique Viking characters. Brilliant art and animation make for an eye-popping world and combat. Soon, players will be able to take that experience on the go, and it’s thanks to distribution by indie publisher Versus Evil.
“We are proud to launch Banner Saga 2 on Nintendo Switch, hot on the heels of the launch of the first game, The Banner Saga last month,” said Steve Escalante, General Manager of Versus Evil, in a press release. “There has never been a better time to get into this awarding winning series. Strategy and RPG Nintendo Switch fans will get the opportunity to play through the entire saga, from start to finish, this Summer when the third and final chapter Banner Saga 3 releases. Playing this game on the Nintendo Switch is truly a joy, allowing you to play whenever and wherever you can.”
The Banner Saga 2 reaches the Nintendo Switch on June 7th, 2018. The following month, on July 26th, The Banner Saga 3 reaches Nintendo Switch alongside PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Winner of numerous awards, and nominated for a BAFTA, the original Banner Saga is available currently for all systems. If you have yet to play the acclaimed title, there’s still some time before the sequel arrives. Check back for additional updates on video game releases and deals as time goes by.
