Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy Cuts Out Naughty Dog References In Upcoming Switch, Xbox One, PC Ports

Uncharted References Get the Boot in Crash Bandicoot Trilogy

You’ve probably heard by now that Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy isn’t a PS4 exclusive anymore. Announced during a Nintendo Direct on Friday, the three Crash remakes are now heading to Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC on July 10th. While the hardcore PlayStation fanboys are quick to voice their complaints about losing a console exclusive, there is one shred of exclusivity that PS4 owners will always be able to gloat over.

Eagle-eyed fans that played the remake will have noticed that famous studio Naughty Dog — the original developer of the first three Crash games — is referenced a couple of times throughout the collection. The Naughty Dog paw print logo can be found on Crash’s sister Coco’s laptop. In a cutscene, she can be found watching a clip from Uncharted 4. And finally, a picture of Nathan Drake is hung in Crash’s house.

In case you were wondering, all of these nods to Naughty Dog have been removed in the other console editions based on the quick trailer we got on Friday. Coco’s laptop is missing the paw print logo, and the Uncharted 4 footage has been replaced with…uhh, a picture of her brother, Crash. While the scene with the Nathan Drake photo doesn’t appear in the trailer, it’s safe to say that it will be swapped out with someone else entirely.

It would be extra cool if each version of Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy had something that reflects the console gamers are playing on. Maybe a picture of Luigi is in the house instead, or maybe Coco is watching a video of Master Chief.
