Console Versions of the RPG Are Already in the Works
Good news for you RPG-lovers out there; Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire is coming to consoles. Currently, developer Obsidian Entertainment is working to deliver the game to PC by April 3rd. At the same time, another studio is handling the ports. Thus, if you enjoyed the first game, you will be able to enjoy the sequel whether you’re on PS4, Xbox One, or Nintendo Switch.
The console version of Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire is being handled by developer Red Cerberus. While the PC version will arrive this Spring, PS4, Xbox One, and Switch shall witness it during the holidays. Therefore, you have enough time to save money or play the first game all over again. Publishing is being handled by Versus Evil. Earlier this year, when they announced their partnership with Obsidian, we weren’t certain about what that entailed. It looks like benefits will come in the form of promised console versions of the game.
If you haven’t already, now may be the time to try out the original Pillars of Eternity. Our review is available for your scrutiny here, and you can discover why we gave the game such a high score.
As revealed in recent coverage, Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire will expand on all the features that made the first installment great. Players will embark on unique adventures with permutations of choice that make every character and quest their own. Customization, like before, will comprise a major part of the experience. A new map and more await, so check back for details from Obsidian and Versus Evil as time goes by.
Happy gaming.
