Freyja, the Goddess of Love, Joins the Fray
This Valentine’s Day get ready to kick some butt with a new character in Fight of Gods, a PC fighting game in which various religious deities duke it out. It looks like Freyja, the Norse goddess of love, beauty and sex has come to join the fight!
Freyja is the game’s first DLC character and it’ll cost $2.99 to purchase the DLC on Steam. From the footage in her reveal trailer, Freyja wields a giant axe that also possesses a mystical flame.
“Players who purchase the Fight Of Gods ‘Freyja DLC’ will gain access to one of the game’s most powerful gods yet, along with a new level and music,” read an official PQube press release. “Freyja is the leader of the Valkyrja, who choose who will live and die in battle. According to legend she recruits warrior spirits for the coming Ragnarok: When a war ends in the mortal realm, she collects fallen warriors’ souls and leads them to Folkvang, the setting of the game’s newest stage.”
The developers have also come out with a patch that includes a variety of changes such as increased overall game speed, fixed hitboxes, and a redesigned character selection screen. You can read up on more of the changes here.
“In our game, Freyja fights with a flaming axe and is immediately identifiable by her diminutive stature and bouncy hair,” read a news update on the game’s Steam page. “We hope you love our take on this awesome and iconic goddess from Norse mythology.”
